Seeking therapy is both an admirable and courageous first step in your journey towards wellness as defined by you. Whether you are facing a difficult life transition, wish to manage distressing mental health symptoms, or would like help identifying and breaking free from patterns that are interfering with your personal growth, you deserve an emotionally safe and judgement-free space to explore any and all facets of your life. Each client has unique needs, therefore there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. I take a trauma-informed, person-centered stance to help you uncover your own goals and collaboratively work with you to meet those goals primarily drawing from humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) perspectives. I believe in the transformative power of building practical skills in symptom management as well as forming connections between past and present to put those symptoms into context. Exploring the context for your problems can provide a meaningful frame-of-reference for making new informed decisions based on your current values. In other words, you may be running off old scripts that are no longer serving you, and bringing those old scripts into awareness, to the extent that is comfortable to you, can help you to rewrite them to better fit your life today. I work with adults of all ages and am experienced in working with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal relationships, trauma, and more. If you feel we may be a good fit, then I look forward to hearing from you at audrey@newprospectscounseling.com or (414) 291-9487 ext. 512.
